Canadian act Hullo merge dream-pop with infectious elements of guitar-pop, resulting in a consuming sound with a slick infectiousness. “Cold in the Sky” — which we’re happy to premiere — releases today, and meshes lush vocals with twangy guitars and an all-out dreamy soundscape. “My sound is an expression of honest emotion, sarcasm and anxiety, creating a similar downtempo energy as groups like Men I Trust and Homeshake!” explains Nick Bendzsa, aka Hullo, a Newfoundland-born musician. Lovely, gliding guitar work meshes with serene vocals and lush synths to show a captivating aesthetic that puts Hullo squarely on my radar.
